The Evanston WE Program pairs adult mentors with students according to mutual industry interest and experience. For example, a student seeking a career in the automotive field will be matched with a technician, manufacturer or dealership professional.  Mentors are a critical aspect of our program and an incredible resource to our under-resourced youth throughout their junior and senior years of high school, training and career placement. We ask that Evanston WE Program mentors meet or speak with their student twice each month.

Our mentors offer advice and encouragement as the student navigates the path toward becoming certified and ultimately employed in his/her chosen field. In addition, we ask that each mentor help the student find a paid summer position related to the stated industry of interest between the student’s junior and senior year of high school.  A small investment of your time will change the lives of these deserving Chicago students.
